[SPOILERS for those not caught up on Game of Thrones ahead.]
New pictures have came for the next week’s installment of , teasing conflicts to come and preparations for war. This past Sunday, Game of Thrones eventually returned to television with the start of its penultimate year old. Kicking off with a bang, the year 7 premiere’s ratings were up substantially from even season premieres past. The six episodes of season 7 should be anything while much of the premiere episode was concerned with dining table setting.
The next episode of season 7, ‘Stormborn’, will dive to Daenerys’ return to Dragonstone and her attempts to begin her conquest of Westeros. However, while Dany is seeking to gain her back birthright, other battles will be brewing across the seven kingdoms that are fractured. Last week hinted at a lot both concerning interpersonal strife and epic battles. To make it through the battles to come, we know characters such as Sansa and Jon will have to work together. Of course, 1 character will be working to drive a wedge between the two Stark siblings.
HBO has published new pictures with this Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones. As promised by its name ‘Stormborn’, a chunk of the episode will be devoted to Dany preparing with her allies for warfare. Jon will have to see his back, whereas friends and allies surround Dany however.
The pictures affirm Jon and Littlefinger possess a confrontation throughout ‘Stormborn’. One of the trailers for Game of Thrones year 7 revealed that the strain eventually surfaced, resulting in Jon seizing Littlefinger in a way that mirrors what Ned Stark did into the guy, back in year 1. Whether this image comes from exactly the same scene or not, remains to be viewed.
We also have a shot of Dany at the Painted Table on Dragonstone using Tyrion, Elaria Sand, also Yara (Asha from the novels) Greyjoy. With a Lannister, Sand, also Greyjoy with her hands, Cersei watch out. There are also shots of Jon and Davos heading from Winterfell, Arya continued on her trip, Sansa looking pensive, and Sam ongoing his grueling work at the Citadel. Given what happened in the first installment, that this scene between Sam and the maester (played by Jim Broadbent) could cope with what the acolyte discovered about monster glass.
